Tidal forces are gravitational waves

چکیده
Abstract In this paper we show in a covariant and gauge invariant way that general relativity, tidal forces are actually hidden form of gravitational waves. This must be so because effects cannot occur faster than the speed light. Any two body gravitating system, where bodies orbiting around each other, may generate negligible waves, but it is via these waves non-negligible (causing shape distortions) act on bodies. Although caused by electric part Weyl tensor, transparently some small time varying magnetic tensor with non zero curl present system mediates wave type effects. The outcome new test whether propagate at

Gravitational Tidal Forces and Atmospheric Processes
Recent studies have revealed a relationship between variations in gravitational tidal forces and rainfall. A possible mode of interaction of the tidal forces on atmospheric processes is suggested to explain how the tidal forces which are small may induce detectable effects on atmospheric circulation, considering both synoptioscale and shortperiod processes in the atmosphere. The variability of ...

Gravitational Waves from Gravitational Collapse
Gravitational wave emission from stellar collapse has been studied for more than three decades. Current state-of-the-art numerical investigations of collapse include those that use progenitors with more realistic angular momentum profiles, properly treat microphysics issues, account for general relativity, and examine non-axisymmetric effects in three dimensions. Such simulations predict that g...
متن کاملAnalytical Solution for the Deformation of a Cylinder under Tidal Gravitational Forces
Quite a few future high precision space missions for testing Special and General Relativity will use optical resonators which are used for laser frequency stabilization. These devices are used for carrying out tests of the isotropy of light (Michelson-Morley experiment) and of the universality of the gravitational redshift. As the resonator frequency not only depends on the speed of light but a...
متن کاملGravitational lensing by gravitational waves
Gravitational lensing by gravitational wave is considered. We notice that although final and initial direction of photons coincide, displacement between final and initial trajectories occurs. This displacement is calculated analytically for the plane gravitational wave pulse. Estimations for observations are discussed.
